The Challenge

The Southport Learning Trust, a seven-school network, faced the daily challenge of securing top-tier, subject-specific teachers on demand.

While acknowledging the inevitable rise in supply costs, the Trust recognised the paramount importance of maintaining the highest standards of teaching quality to ensure value for money and optimise student learning experiences.

Previously, they responded to absences in a reactive manner, hoping to find suitable cover teachers when needed.

The Solution

Secured Educators: 18 primary and secondary educators were ringfenced for the Trust across the academic year.

No Temp to Perm Fees: SupplyWell don’t charge for temp to perm staff. 11% of the Flexible Workforce were taken on by the Trust saving an estimated £16k in fees.

Peak Absence Usage: 40% of educator usage occurred during the Autumn term, when staff absence and demand for high-quality, subject-specific teachers reach their peak.

Platform Bookings: Over 80% of all educator bookings were made through the SupplyWell online platform, eliminating the need for morning calls or emails.
