Founded by former teacher Michael Heverin, SupplyWell also recently received a £100k ‘Innovate UK’ government grant to help revolutionise the way schools hire supply teachers. SupplyWell’s good fortune has continued with the announcement of being one of the five regional winners of the highly competitive Rising Stars competition. There are five regional winners for each region and nation across the UK, with each one being individually selected by a panel of industry experts, and are regarded as tech leaders within their respective regions. These companies will now compete nationally for the chance to be named as one of Tech Nation’s 10 Rising Stars. The Rising Stars UK Winners will be revealed in February 2021.
The Liverpool based company is proud to receive the recognition as part of a national competition, and looks forward to the exposure this will bring. The achievement means that investment opportunities are heightened for SupplyWell, and solidifies the ‘tech for good’ company’s place as one of the strongest tech organisations on the rise in the region.
Co-Founded by a Merseyside trio consisting of former teacher Michael Heverin, alongside Raina Heverin and Dan Price. SupplyWell was created by teachers for teachers, ensuring the happiness of educators and supply staff is at the forefront of their ethos. The company also endeavours to help schools retain money through using their innovative tech platform which saves schools significant sums of money, reducing teacher absence, while improving teacher pay and wellbeing. SupplyWell already has made a positive impact on dozens of schools in the Liverpool City Region and has high aspirations for further regional growth.
Michael Heverin, Co-Founder & CEO of SupplyWell, said “To be one of the top 5 early-stage scaleups in the North West is a fantastic achievement for us, and follows nicely from just being awarded an Innovate UK grant. We are serious about the problems we are solving in education and this will enable us to help even more schools, teachers and students.”
SupplyWell was founded on the realisation that there needed to be change in the way schools and recruitment agencies function. Co-Founder and CEO, Michael Heverin has practical experience in what it means to be a teacher and an aspiring leader within a school. He has first hand knowledge of the pressures that come with working within education and co-founded SupplyWell in the hopes of creating a fairer future for schools, teachers and pupils.
